Biography
Shaqua is a talented singer/ song writer and musician whose roots are deeply set in music from various sources. His music is a fusion of modern rock with ethnic vibe and 'down under' Australian flavouring. profound lyrics and 'signature' vocals, makes this singer/ songwriter a fresh breeze in the music scene.
Shaqua's earliest connection to music begins with his traditional Yemenite musical heritage, performing and recording with his father, Aharon Amram, a famous Jewish- Yemeni folk singer/ song writer, and spans all the way to American grass roots rock, rhythm & blues, funk and even trance.
Shaqua's music has evolved during his youth and later during his travels around the world, and was profoundly influenced by giants such as: Bob Dylan, The Doors, David Bowie, Pink Floyd, Prince, RadioHead, 2pac, Lenny Kravitz and many more.
At 1991 Shaqua left Israel and traveled the world. He arrived at Australia and found his place in the 'down under' continent. After a few years in that wonderful continent, Shaqua has found his matured self, his unique 'say' and signature style of music.
Since the year 1999 Shaqua has been writing and composing vigorously and performing in small venues around Sydney. He visited his home land and performed there as well. He traveled to France and performs there with his father at the 'Cite de la Music' in Paris. Later, he publishes a 5 song EP called '1st taste' and gets his first radio airplay, by one of the most prominent DJ's on national radio.
Since the beginning of 2007 Shaqua is performing materials from his soon to come out LP called 'Time has come'. He performs at rock venues and starts rallying a group of followers who comes to his shows. Shaqua writes, composes and sings all his materials.
These days Shaqua is rehearsing for a tour which will start in the New Year 2010, finishing work on his LP, promoting his music internationally and searching for a suitable label to help promote his music internationally.
